Since December 2009 I’ve been living & working on Yacht Ibis, my Dufour 48 sailing boat in the Caribbean, and you wouldn’t believe how happy I am to be back home on the water.
For Winter 2010-11 I’ll be based around St Maarten/St Martin, but sailing up and down the Leeward Islands and West to the British Virgin Islands. I’m contemplating an Atlantic crossing in May 2011 to spend the Summer in the Med, from where it’s easier to hop back home to the UK to see friends and family….and it’s also easier for them to visit me!! Anyone interested in crewing on the Atlantic crossing, please drop me a line.
I’ve made a lot of friends here in Grenada during the hurricane season, and I’m looking forward to seeing those I left in St Martin, the French side, back in June, although sadly one of them, Daniel LeFevre, recently died in an accident in the Lagoon. He’ll be missed in and around Geminga Boatyard.
2010 has been a relatively quiet year of living on the water and getting to know my new boat. I had a few charters early in the year and then lots of friends came out to visit which was great. It’s wonderful to be able to share this amazing life with friends, old and new.
